(10) Women Always Hide Shape/Type Of Her Nipples
It is one of the most wonderful breast secrets women love to hide from men. Every nipple is also not equal in terms of its shape. Their shapes can vary to a wide range.
According to a post published in Seventeen, there are 8 different types of nipples in the world.
All of these types are absolutely normal. It is perhaps possible to have a combination of two or more types. For example, a woman can have protruding with bumpy or even a flat & hairy.
Dr. Tsippora Shainhouse, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician & dermatologist in Beverly Hills, CA & a clinical instructor at University of Southern California classify them as follows:
(a) Protruding — raised above a few mm above the surface of areola & point outwards. It can harden & become more pronounced with cold or stimulation.
(b) Flat — entirely flat & blends into areola. It can harden & become more pronounced with cold or stimulation.
(c) Puffy — entire areola & nipple area looks like a small, raised mound on top of breast. It can also harden & become more pronounced with cold or stimulation.
(d) Inverted — retracts inwards. You can even use your fingers to bring it out. However, muscles can also be too tight.
(e) Unilateral Inverted — One is raised & other is inverted. It is perfectly safe if it has always been the case. However, if it occurred recently then it might be a sign of breast cancer.
(f) Bumpy — presence of bumps on areola. Sometimes, it looks like whiteheads.
(g) Hairy — Stray & dark hairs growing out of areola. It is perfectly normal. You can safely pluck them out with tweezers.
(h) Supernumerary — presence of extra small nipples. They either look like flat moles or have a fully-formed, raised bump.
